Some years ago, I never new Blogging was such a big Business until one day while chatting online with a London based independent developer Sam Mbale about online projects, when he suggested I do a research on blogs and blogging business.
I literally knew nothing about websites and how to blog, i could hardly tell the difference between a blog and a website but out of curiosity I embarked on this fact finding journey. Interestingly, the immediate information I found was that blogs or weblogs have been around for so many years though it’s only recently that more internet publishers have been caught up in the world of blogging. I also found out that a growing number of people blog for money and are in actual fact making a living from blogging while companies have realized the great potential for direct customer contact which blogging provides to drive sales and promote their brands.
It is amazing that a survey in 2003 estimated that over 4 million weblogs had been created by the mind of 2003.
With this information on my finger tips, the last question on my mind was whether they were any Accountants seriously blogging or any Accounting blogs with a focus on accounting topics until I stumbled upon this list of Top 50 Accounting Blogs and later came across another Accounting blog list on golden marketing.
I also learned that various companies and professionals are using blogs to communicate directly with their customers and clients to provide a collaborative space. Media outlets are also using blogs to connect more closely to readers, providing insights, tips and other information that might otherwise not be available in print.
Likewise, I would encourage Accountants and various other professionals to read these business blogs mostly authored by qualified, chartered or certified public Accountants including others by accounting firms. That is why I was so delighted when this blog was added to the Accounting blog list.
